In a major milestone for India’s renewable energy sector, Envision Energy India, in collaboration with Juniper Green Energy, has successfully commissioned the country’s largest wind turbine. This achievement comes just ahead of Envision Energy India’s 10-year operational milestone in July 2026, further cementing its leadership in smart wind turbine technology for independent power producers.
The newly deployed EN182|5MW turbine sets a new benchmark as the largest in India by rotor diameter, featuring a 5 MW capacity, a 182-meter rotor diameter, and a 105.56-meter hub height supported by a tubular steel tower. Compared to the previous EN156/3.3MW model, this advanced platform boosts annual energy output by over 40%, delivers up to 98% machine uptime in high-wind conditions, and features enhanced temperature tolerance up to 50°C.
This commissioning also highlights Juniper Green Energy’s rapid portfolio expansion. The company has recently commissioned 20 MW in Gujarat and 75.6 MW in Rajasthan, with another 246.4 MW in development. With 305 MW of new renewable capacity added and participation in India’s pioneering Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) project, Juniper Green Energy continues to aggressively strengthen its clean energy pipeline.
